Vacuum Degassing Oven (VDO Touch)

The vacuum degassing oven (VDO touch) is used to precisely and accurately degas pressure-aged binder samples and is designed for rapid removal of entrapped air bubbles in asphalt specimens to the required 15 ±1.0kPa (25.5Hg). The net- work-ready 7in (178mm) touch-screen controller features easy menu-driven operation in multiple language options for fast programming of vac- uum, temperature values and soak times. The controller display indicates time, temperature, and current process stage, with alerts at the end of each test. When connected to a network with an Ethernet cable, the VDO Touch can be operated remotely via smart phones, tablets, or PC’s. USB Ports allow easy software upgrades.

The compact, table-top unit is constructed of stainless steel with a hinged lid to conserve space while allowing easy access to the stainless steel vacuum chamber. The oven holds up to (8) 4 oz. (114ml) or (4) 8 oz. (236ml) sample containers and features a self-contained, automatic vacuum system.

Temperatures in the VDO Touch vacuum cham- ber are measured by a platinum RTD probe with a range from ambient to 200°C with accu- racy to ±5°C. Soak and degassing times are both programmable up to 4,320 minutes. The rugged stainless steel cabinet, chamber and cover are easy to maintain, and the removable cover features a heat-resistant glass view- ing window for monitoring purposes The VDO includes: (4) 8 oz. (236ml) specimen contain- ers, specimen removal tool, stylus and clip. Dimensions: 24" x 16" x 12" (610 x 406 x 304mm).

ASPHALT BINDER TESTING-PAV, PBR

The PAV4 sample holder is a one-piece, solid device requiring no assembly and is easy to achieve an accurate level position with the lev- eling ring in the vessel. There is also room for a small bubble level between slots for verification purposes.

The PAV4 includes a network-ready modem, which provides connection to the internet, per- mitting the user to access the PAV3 with a mobile device or PC using a VNC viewer app program. VNC connection enables the user to connect, monitor, and control the PAV4 from a remote loca- tion. The PAV3 can be programmed with a custom IP address, so the number of PAV4s on a single network is essentially endless.

The H-2783A air meter, which exceeds ASTM requirements, features the Humboldt, all-brass super pump, the most reliable and highest qual- ity pump available. The meter’s easy-to-use, and extra durable stainless steel clamping system employs four, one-piece, self-locking clamps that quickly seal the lid to the base with proper tension aided by an o-ring to assure a watertight seal. The large, easy-to-read, 4-inch diameter, heavy- duty, direct percentage gauge with calibration adjustments is accurate to the nearest 0.1%. The bucket, or pressure chamber, features EZ-grip, cast handles, which improve usability. This is especially true when the bucket is also used as a 0.25 cu. ft. unit weight measure. The lid of the pressure meter features a smooth sloped top so water and concrete wipe right off. By eliminating the cavities in the lid that trap and hold concrete, maintenance and repair problems are greatly reduced. The meter also features a machined base, which ensures the meter sets level when conducting tests. The kit includes a durable plastic carrying case; a tamping rod; strike-off bar; rubber bulb syringe; plastic calibration vessel; inside cali- bration tube, outside calibration tube and operat- ing instructions.

This is the original Press-Ur-Meter for field and laboratory tests. This air meter is designed to pro- vide air content and the determination of specific gravity and free moisture of aggregate. Designed to save time, reduce water use, ensure accuracy and maintain sample integrity (sample may also be used for slump and compression tests). The meter uses brass cover clamps, which can be adjusted for clamping pressure. A large, easy-to-read, 4" diameter, direct percentage gauge with calibra- tion adjustments accurate to the nearest 0.1%. The H-2786 meter also features the Humboldt, all-brass super pump, the most reliable and highest quality pump available. The meter’s base/bucket can be used as a 0.25 cu. ft. unit weight measure. Two-speed mixer designed to mix cement mor- tars and pastes. Mixer provides manually-con- trolled cement, water and sand supplies. Mixer features a 5L (5.3qt) stainless steel bowl and ASTM stirrer, and a two-speed motor, which runs at either 140 ±5 rpm or 285 ±10 rpm.

Features control panel, which provides fast, easy control in eight languages. Numerous safety fea- tures are incorporated in the mixer and includes a service program with malfunction messages for operator, including paddle/planetary speed and time monitoring. Heavy-duty construction of aluminum and cast iron provides durability and a long service life. The mixer provides a power- ful motor for quiet and maintenance-free oper- ation aided by the use of planetary gears and a toothed, belt drive. The mixing bowl is connected to the mixer by a quick-release clamping system. The distance between the mixing bowl and the stirrer can be easily and accurately be set.

Mixer design conforms to CE standards, featuring a mixing bowl cover, electronic position monitor- ing of the mixing bowl, emergency stop switch and restart protection.
